CHILDREN born between March 1 2010 and February 28 2011 are now eligible to register for a nursery place for session 2013/14.

Parents have been reminded that all pre school children who are due to commence nursery in August 2013, January 2014 and April 2014 must register during the week 21 - 25 January 2013.

Completed registration forms can be submitted to any East Dunbartonshire primary school for verification, during the week beginning 21 to 25 January 2013 between 10.00am and noon along with child’s birth certificate, proof of residency and proof of legal guardianship (if appropriate).

Parents unable to go along to any local authority primary school can go to the Kirkintilloch Community Hub, (Monday – Thursday 8am to 8pm. Friday 8am to 5pm and Saturday 10am to 1pm) or forward their completed form together with their child’s original birth certificate, proof of residency and proof of legal guardianship if appropriate to Community Services Directorate, Early Years and Childcare Section, Southbank House, Strathkelvin Place, Kirkintilloch G66 1XQ by February 28.

Gordon Currie, Head of Education at East Dunbartonshire Council, said: “East Dunbartonshire Council has a key role in ensuring that parents have the opportunity to send their pre-school or ante-pre-school child to a registered nursery establishment.

“It’s important to emphasise you should register your child between 21 – 25 January 2013 regardless of whether they will commence nursery in August 2013, January 2014 or April 2014.“

Registration forms and information leaflets are available from East Dunbartonshire local authority schools and libraries.
