MILNGAVIE singer-songwriter Amy Macdonald is going to appear at one of the country’s biggest music festivals.

She will be joining iconic Scottish rockers Primal Scream and KT Tunstall as a headliner of Wickerman in Dumfriesshire.

Another iconic band from the 1970s and 80s, Dexys Midnight Runners - now officially known as Dexys - will be appearing, along with indie favourites the Enemy, English folk stars Bellowhead and singer-songwriters Roddy Hart, from Glasgow, and Londoner King Charles.

Amy Macdonald said: “I love being able to play in Scotland and I’ve heard the Wickerman audience are a great crowd to play for.”

Festival co-ordinator Helen Chalmers, said: “It is fantastic to announce acts that cross to many different genres of music. With Amy Macdonald, the Enemy and KT Tunstall joining Primal Scream, we are confident that this year’s festival will be the ultimate summer’s party.”

The two-day event was first held in 2001 and was inspired by classic horror The Wicker Man.
