KIND kids at St Joseph’s Primary School in Milngavie gave 100 Christmas presents to a charity for children.
They handed over a sack-load of stocking fillers to the charity With Kids, which works with families and children in the east end of Glasgow which has some of the highest levels of poverty in Scotland and the UK.
St Joseph’s Primary acting headteacher Ann Rice, said: “Christmas is a time for giving as well as receiving and the children have shown great generosity in choosing, wrapping and donating these presents for other children their age who are not as lucky as they are.
“These gifts are for children who live just a few miles away but whose experience of Christmas may not always be a happy one. We all hope that these donations spread some festive joy.”
Suzie Blair from With Kids said: “We are delighted to take these beautifully wrapped gifts away. Thanks to this donation many children who might spend Christmas going without will now have a gift to open.”
Chair of the PTA, Emma Whitfield, said: “To spread a little happiness at Christmas is really important, the children and families of St Joseph’s wanted to make sure that other people in difficult circumstances have something to smile about this year.”
