STUNNING blonde Courtney St John is all set to represent Scotland after being crowned Miss Galaxy Scotland earlier this month.

The title will mean the 27-year-old mother of one, from Prestonfield in Milngavie, will now represent Scotland in Florida in July against a host of international beauties from across the globe at the Galaxy International Beauty Pageant.

The former Douglas Academy pupil said after getting through to the final: “It was quite tough and the standard is unbelievable.

“There were four rounds, an interview, eveningwear, fashion-wear and swimwear. I think my strongest round was the interview, although I enjoyed all the rounds.”

The event was held in a glittering grand final at the Park Hall Hotel, Lancashire.

And she added: “I was one of the oldest in the competition as the upper age limit is 29. I got on great with all the other contestants and will be travelling to Florida with the winners from Wales and England.”

The freelance model is hoping if she wins in America that it will open some career opportunities.

In 2008 she was crowned Miss Earth Scotland - a beauty contest with an environmental twist in the Philippines.

She gave a presentation at the Miss Earth Scottish finals on the importance of combating global warming and what individuals could do to address the problem.

Courtney has also featured, along with three other representatives for the United Kingdom, in glitzy OK magazine.
