Pupils from Lenzie Meadow Primary School are no couch potatoes when it comes to maths thanks to a new ‘maths on the move’ initiative.

The children were given a number of items including sponge dice, numbered bean bags and target mat to help PE lessons become more educational.

The new maths sports equipment was provided by homebuilders CALA who were happy to see the youngsters putting the equipment to good use recently.

Greg Bremner, head teacher at Lenzie Meadow Primary School said: “We are thrilled with this kind donation from CALA Homes which is not only a great way to get the kids moving but help them with their maths lessons. It’s extremely important to encourage children to get into sport and having new equipment and resources certainly helps motivate them to get involved.”

Liana Canavan, sales and marketing director for CALA Homes (West), said: “Following a great summer of sport, we thought it would be a great opportunity to give local schools new equipment to help get them moving. It’s great to see the pupils of Lenzie Meadow Primary School out using the maths PE equipment. The children take part in a whole host of sporting activities so we wanted to gift the school with something that was also educational.”
