Planning permission was granted by Bearsden County Council for restauranteur Reo Stakis to build a new £250,000 hotel on Milngavie Road, Burnbrae.
The plans for the hotel show that it will have 15 bedrooms, each with adjoining bathrooms on the upper floor and a residents’ lounge.
There had been a number of objections for people living nearby.
The main issue was one of increased car traffic to and from the hotel which would be a danger to the general public.
However it was felt this issue could be dealt with by the appropriate authority.
The police did not raise any issues surrounding road safety, but it was felt by councillors an upgrade to Mosshead Road was due.
