Cyan restaurant and bar in Milngavie is hosting a ladies lunch and fashion show this Sunday (April 27) to help a local breast cancer charity.

The Lingerie Boutique in Stewart Street is providing a range of underwear and swimwear/beachwear for models to wear at the show and another local business - Mad Hatter - has donated some wonderful hats to be auctioned off on the day.

The organisers from the charity Breast Cancer 2000 are particularly excited that male models are also expected to be showing a range of Dick Winters underwear, this may even include some of the Glasgow Warriors rugby team.

The event is sold out and the organisers would like to thank everyone who has bought tickets or supported them in any way.

Events organiser, Irene Paisley, said: “We’re really looking forward to this event and we are all trying to stay calm about the male models!

“We are sure everyone will enjoy themselves and get some inspiration for new undies or swimwear just in time for the summer holidays.

“Cyan has always done us proud and we’d like to thank the owner David Cowan for all his support to the charity.

“In fact all the traders in Milngavie have been extremely generous, so many people offer to give us things and do things for us - we are very grateful.”

Breast Cancer 2000 was founded by their late chairperson Doreen Don from Bearsden who was a patient at the Western Infirmary Breast care Unit where she underwent a mastectomy at the age of 42.

It was during this time that Doreen was inspired to set up the charity because she’d received such excellent care.

Breast Cancer 2000 raises funds and public awareness for patient care and comfort at the Beatson Oncology Centre and the Western Infirmary Breast Care Unit which serve Glasgow and the west of Scotland. Milngavie celebrity, Jenni Falconer, is patron of the charity.

Irene added: “If you missed out on this fashion show we’re also holding an afternoon tea in Cyan on Sunday, June 22 and tickets are still available. Local florist Bluebell Wood is doing a flower show on the day.

“We’re also holding our annual golf event on Friday, June 6 at Buchanan Castle in Drymen.”

For tickets call Irene on 0779421581.
