An event to celebrate the launch of Heather Hind’s debut album which was co-written with Bearsden-based composer and musician Malcolm Lindsay, is going to be held at The Lillie Art Gallery in Milngavie on Friday, June 13.
The album called ‘Hindsight’ was recorded and produced in his Bearsden studio.
The event, which is free and open to everyone, will feature a mini performance by Heather Hind and Malcolm Lindsay, who will be joined by eminent guitarist Paul Tasker and singers Karina Smilie and Jo Shaw.
Access to the gallery is from 7pm and the performance starts at 8pm.
Malcolm Lindsay is an award-winning composer and musician based in Bearsden.
His work for TV and film is seen across the world but his talent is also appreciated closer to home.
In 2010 the Milngavie Music Group commissioned him to write a new classical piece – the first time in their history they had done so.
His piece ‘After the snow’ was debuted in Cairns Church, Milngavie and has since been recorded for release on a new album of classical works, many played by the RSNO, which Lindsay will release later in the year.
The artwork for the CD was created by Melanie Sims, a locally based photographic artist, and features stunning images from Milngavie reservoir on a foggy day.
Melanie said: “I’ve exhibited at the Lillie Gallery a number of times as part of various group shows and will have a solo show there in 2015.
“So it’s fitting that this album launch is being held there as well.”
