Help Tesco in charity fundraiser
MARIE Curie Cancer Care and Tesco have launched a Charity of the Year fundraising partnership in Scotland.
Staff at the Milngavie store, with the help of customers, aim to substantially contribute to the national target of 2.5million for Marie Curie's project to provide more nursing care at home, which aims to fund an additional 125,000 hours of care for patients and their families.
The charity provides high-quality nursing, totally free, to give terminally-ill patients the choice of dying at home supported by their families, saying most people want to end their days at home, but in reality half the population die in hospital — the place they least want to be.
Marie Curie nurse Lorna McGarry said: "All of the money raised by Tesco staff and customers in Scottish stores will be spent in their local communities. By simply taking part in fundraising events or buying the selected products like greeting cards and flowers in store and online, Tesco staff and customers will be helping Marie Curie Cancer Care support terminally ill people in local communities across the UK."
