Councillor Alan Moir, convener of East Dunbartonshire Council’s Development and Regeneration Committee, said, “Time is running out for you to nominate a local business, service, social enterprise or entrepreneur who you feel deserves recognition.

“I would urge companies, large and small, to put themselves forward for an award and would also ask local people to nominate those businesses which deliver great services or products.

“The business awards will be a terrific showcase of good practice and innovative working locally - rewarding forward-thinking firms and providing inspiration.

“Don’t miss out on the chance to secure a local business awards ‘Oscar’ and put the spotlight on the driving forces helping to power the economy in East Dunbartonshire.”

The closing date for nominations is this Friday, April 11. Forms are available via the Council website - www.eastdunbarton.gov.uk/businessawards. Call 0141 578 8530 or e-mail edbusiness@eastdunbarton.gov.uk.

The awards evening will also include a charity fundraiser in aid of a number of local organisations, reflecting the continuing support from businesses for good causes across the area.

Nominations for charities and organisations to benefit are being sought. You can e-mail your suggestions to edbusiness@eastdunbarton.gov.uk

The aim is to find a variety of good causes which work in East Dunbartonshire to help, for example, community initiatives, children, the elderly, people with additional support needs, the environment, young enterprise and more.
