Douglas Academy pupils took part in a European Day of Languages event recently and to mark the occasion various European delicacies were served in the canteen and foreign music played.

First year pupils entered a competition to design a poster called Why learn a language?

The winner of this was Alastair Miller (pictured) and the runners up were Téa Jack (third from left). Other entrant (l-r) are Hannah Beardsley, who won a separate language quiz competition, Iona Paterson and Eilidh Robertson. (Ref:m21546) Picture: EMMA MITCHELL
