East Dunbartonshire Council’s website gets revamp
COUNCIL leader Rhondda Geekie has praised the authorities revamped website.
A new interactive web mapping service on it will enable users to view maps with information on accessed through a drop pin on a map, or by entering an address or location in a box to zoom in or out and navigate to find details of local councillors, MPs or MSPs.
It can also be used to access local information about GP surgeries, leisure centres, schools, libraries, parks, recycling points and much more.
Councillor Geekie said: “This is a fantastic new facility that will allow users to find out information about contacts, services and places and the location of these, all at once.
“It’s going to be great for planning activities and journeys and it will provide a much greater depth of information than has been available before on our website maps.”
New features include distance measuring and ‘drag and drop’ map controls and visitors will also be able to
review planning applications on the map and view historical maps of the area.
The council is keen to get feedback from people who have used the new service on webmaster@eastdunbarton.gov.uk.
The new mapping service can be accessed at www.eastdunbarton.gov.uk/maps.aspx
