Bearsden Academy’s pupils have topped the tables in the UK Beaver Computing Challenge - a computational thinking quiz run through the British Computer Society.
Pupils were put to the test with 15 problem-solving questions which they had to complete in 45 minutes. All S1 and S2 pupils entered the competition, along with Computing Science pupils in S3 to S6.
Scott Forrest’s perfect score of 180 out of 180 was the only full marks score in Scotland, and one of 19 in the whole of the UK’s 20,000 entrants. He was joined by Fergus Hempel (172), Isla Carter (160) and Heather Rowland (160) in the UK top scorer’s list.
