ANGRY parents have organised a demonstration to be held at 1pm on Saturday, January 19 at the East Dunbartonshire Council offices.

Nine schools from across East Dunbartonshire will be taking part (Bearsden, Milngavie, Gartconner, Woodhill, St Joseph’s, Lennoxtown, Oxgang, Merkland and Auchinairn Primary Schools) and several hundred people are expected to attend.

A spokesperson for the Save Bearsden Primary campaign, said: “We encourage as many parents and concerned residents as possible to take part in this demonstration. There will be press and television coverage of the event so it is important that we have a large turnout to show the strength of local opposition to the current East Dunbartonshire Council proposals.”

Everyone is also being urged to reject the proposals by going to their local library to get a consultation form or go online at www.eastdunbarton.gov.uk/primaryimprovement.
