Got To Dance 3 Semi Final week2 Sunday 5th February Fear Of The Unknown

THREE talented dancers from Bearsden were thrilled to win the public vote in a live semi-final of a TV dance competition on Sunday - and they are now in with a chance of winning the top cash prize.

Bearsden Academy pupil Stephanie Taylor (16), and former Bearsden Academy pupils Lorna Munn (24) and Jaimie Macrae (18) are part of a dance group of 17 girls called Fear of the Unknown - which could scoop £250,000 if they win the live final on Sky1 in March.

Stephanie said: “A massive thank you to everyone who voted for us. I’m so excited to have made it through to the finals - I can’t wait.

“I had an amazing time at the semi finals but it was so nerve-wracking waiting for the result.

“Our final routine is even bigger and better - I’d urge everyone to please watch and get behind us one more time.”

Lorna said: “This feels like a dream come true. Performing in front of so many people in the final will be very exciting and we can’t wait to show everyone our final routine.”

There will be 6,000 people in the audience at the grand finale at London’s Olympia on Sunday, March 4, at 6pm.

Judges Ashley Banjo, leader of street dance group Diversity, former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt and actor and tap dancer Adam Garcia were impressed with Fear of the Unknown’s performance which had an underwater theme.

Strictly Ballroom film star Adam Garcia said: “You guys are masters of the grand gesture. You have such an impact. You are so memorable and different, but you are also such good dancers.”

Kimberley said: “You are a phenomenon, you give me the chills time and again.”

Six acts battled it out on Sunday for two spots in the live final, but it was Boadicea and Fear of the Unknown who won over the hearts of the nation.

Fear of the Unknown would use the prize money to go to dance school.

The next episode of Got To Dance is on Sky 1 and Sky 1HD on Sunday at 6pm.
