Care company Home Instead Senior Care Glasgow North wanted to bring a bit of festive cheer to the elderly visitors who attend the Fraser Centre in Milngavie. At the Christmas carol concert held at the centre they surprised people by giving them each a box of chocolates as a Christmas gift.

The festive gesture was made possible by Home Instead’s Suhail Rehman, who bought and personally delivered the chocolates as part of their Christmas festivities and also said a few words before the concert began.

Mr Rehman said: “We provide care to older people in their own homes and take great interest in the older community here in Glasgow and the surrounding areas.

“We feel it is important, especially around the festive period, to let the older community know that there are people who are thinking about them and we felt that this was a great opportunity to do just that.”

The event welcomed over 50 people from the local community, including Councillor Eric Gotts, who enjoyed the proceedings.

Fraser Centre manager Jean Pentland said: “We are delighted that Suhail helped us to spread some Christmas cheer. Everyone very much appreciated the gesture. It was a lovely way to end a great day of festive celebrations.”
