Catch the last post before Christmas

DON’T disappoint your friends and family by posting your Christmas cards and parcels too late.

This week is your last chance to make sure they arrive in time for the big day.

First class mail should be sent by Thursday, December 20 to arrive by Christmas Day - and remember to always use a postcode to help direct mail more quickly.

It is also a good idea to include a return address on parcels.

Wrapping parcels and packages will help to protect goods and ensure they arrive at their destination in one piece. Also make sure that you use the correct address and postage.

Gerry O’Rourke, Royal Mail operational director, said: “Thousands of postmen and women will be very busy sorting and delivering mail right up until and on Christmas Eve. Please help us by posting by our recommended dates and using a postcode.”
