Cala development under the spotlight at Bearsden meeting

The Burnbrae Residents’ Association will hold its 71st Annual General Meeting in Kilmardinny House on Wednesday, 23rd April 23, starting at 7.30pm.

Guest speakers are expected to include councillors and officers from East Dunbartonshire Council.

Also invited is Inspector John Hunter from Police Scotland and Andrew Summers from the Milngavie Heritage Centre.

In addition, Gordon Cox of Bearsden North Community Council will discuss the recent Bearsden North Community Council document regarding the feasibility of an Allander rail halt.

Other key issues discussed are likely to be updates on the A81 Road Improvement Plan, the Bearsden Hub, local planning applications, traffic management at the foot of Mosshead Road and an update on the Cala development at Kilmardinny/Westpark.

A spokesman said: “As usual, the committee would like to encourage as many residents as possible to attend this important meeting so that there will be a wide cross-section of opinions aired.

“This is an ideal opportunity to meet ‘the movers’ face to face.

“In adition, the association urgently requires some new committee members to ensure continuity of our association and to allow us to campaign effectively on local issues on behalf of our member residents.

“In particular, we are keen to welcome along some of our younger residents.”
