Boclair pupils grill MP Swinson

PUPILS from Boclair Academy in Bearsden visited The House of Commons to quiz their MP on life in politics Recently.

The youngsters had a Q&A session with East Dunbartonshire’s Jo Swinson followed by a tour of the corridors of power.

Ms Swinson answered a range of questions from life as an MP to what it was like being a woman at Westminster.

Following the tour of Parliament, the group had their photograph taken outside No 10 Downing Street.

Ms Swinson said: “It’s important that people have the opportunity to quiz and question their MP, and I was happy to be able to provide Boclair Academy students with the chance to do this in Parliament.

“I hope it increases their understanding of what an MP does in both Parliament and their constituency and that they may one day be tempted to be involved in politics themselves.

“Any constituents interested in booking a tour of Parliament should get in touch either via e-mail at jo.swinson.mp@parliament.uk or by phone at 0141 943 1568.”
