Bearsden solicitors prove that where there’s a will there’s a way for Macmillan

Bearsden soilicitors Wright and Crawford have joined forces with Macmillan Cancer Support to exclusively offer a free will-writing service during March 2014 to the people of Bearsden and surrounding areas.

For a limited time only, they will waive their fees and instead will encourage clients to make a voluntary donation of £90 per single will or £150 per double will to Macmillan Cancer Support.

The vast majority of Macmillan’s funding comes from voluntary donations, over a third of which is from gifts in wills.

Without these vital donations the development of cancer support services across the west of Scotland would not be possible.

Locally, the charity has funded several vital cancer services, including the cancer information and support service within the Beatson hospital, this service provides a place to meet others affected by cancer and helps you find the information you need on living with all aspects of cancer. The charity also has Macmillan professionals working within the Beatson, including a clinical nurse specialist in teenagers and young adults with cancer.

Denise Hooper, director, said: “Wright and Crawford are very proud to volunteer our legal expertise to help Macmillan Cancer Support. The money raised from this free will-writing initiative will help Macmillan to provide vital support services to people affected by cancer locally.”

Karen Mathie at Macmillan said: “We are extremely grateful to Wright & Crawford for supporting Macmillan through this initiative. Whether people choose to donate now, in their wills or both, their support is vital for the provision of more services like the Beatson information and support service. Macmillan believes that no one should face cancer alone, and the support of people in Bearsden will help us ensure nobody does.”
