Appeal for witnesses to an incident in Milngavie

The police are appealing for information about an incident involving a cyclist and motorist which took place in Milngavie last Tuesday (May 20).

A male cyclist was reported to the police for allegedly acting aggressively towards a female driver in her car at about 2.45pm at the junction of Park Road and Main Street.

He is accused of approaching the nearside of the 60-year-old woman’s vehicle, shouting at her, punching and kicking her car and then opening the car door while continuing to shout at her aggressively.

The male suspect is described as white, aged between 41-60, approx 5ft 11in tall, medium build with short dark hair. He was wearing a dark grey metallic cycle helmet, dark blue long sleeved cycle top with a blue band on the chest and dark grey cycle trousers. He was riding a blue and white mountain bike with curved handles.

Constable Alex Moore from Kirkintilloch Police Office, said: “As the incident occurred in the afternoon it may have been witnessed by several other drivers in the vicinity at the time.

“Any person with information is asked to telephone the non emergency number 101. Alternatively contact Crime stoppers on 0800 555 111 if you wish to remain anonymous.”
