The Antonine Probus Club is going to celebrate it’s 25th anniversary this year with a special lunch at Cyan bar and restaurant in Milngavie on Monday, February 24.
The BBC’s political editor will be the speaker at on the day on the topic of Scottish politics with a question and answer session as well.
The club, which is for retired businessmen and professional men who have lived and/or worked in the Bearsden and Milngavie area, currently has 107 members and meets in Kilmardinny Arts Centre.
President Roy Prentice said; “We are thrilled to be celebrating this milestone.
“We are hoping that two or three of the original members, who are of course quite elderly now, will be able to attend.” The club was formed in the late 1989 as an offshoot of the Probus Club of Allander which had 85 members and a considerable waiting list.
The first chairman was Harry Laws.
