A Bearsden girl has won the coveted title of Miss Teen East Dunbartonshire and a place in the grand-final of Miss Teen Great Britain 2014.
Laura Danielle MacMillan (17) beat off competition from hundreds of teenagers from across the UK to make it through to the final.
A former Bishopbriggs Academy pupil, Laura is going to study sports managment at Edinburgh University later this year. She spends most of her time figure skating competitively, dancing and doing voluntary work and raising cash for charities such as Claire House Children’s Hospice.
She said: “I am so honoured to be representing East Dunbartonshire. It feels unreal.
“I’ve been interested in modelling from a young age so I entered my very first beauty pageant in March this year and I was very proud to be placed in the top five.
“I hope that I make East Dunbartonshire proud at the Miss Teen Great Britain final. I will be competing against 59 contestants so it will be incredibly tough.
“Being chosen as Miss Teen Great Britain is about much more than a pretty face and this is why all finalists have an interview.”
The grand final will be held on August 31 at The Globe in Blackpool and the finalists will stay in the most historic hotel in Blackpool, The Imperial Hotel and enjoy a day at Blackpool Pleasure Beach and a pyjama diva party.
The winner will walk away with some incredible prizes – including £1,000, dresses from The Dress Studio, a portfolio with FAB Photoshoots, an introduction to EKA Model Agency, goodies from Earthnicity, Beauty UK Make-Up, and more.
Laura would like to thank Lindon Travel for being her sponsor.
