Two new exhibitions are being held at Milngavie’s Lillie Art Gallery over the coming weeks.

Figures and Faces – a collection of people and portraits from the gallery’s permanent collection is on display until December 9.

And the annual Christmas craft exhibition, with a fabulous collection of paintings, prints, jewellery, textiles and crafts, will be on display until December 20.

Team leader at The Lillie Art Gallery, James Higgins, said: “The Figures and Faces exhibition looks at the many styles of portraits and figures in the Lillie’s permanent collection.

“It shows that a portrait can be an artist’s representation rather than a photographic image, it can be the whole figure or just the face.

“It can capture the sitter’s personality or their mood and can also illustrate more than one person.”

He added: “Visitors can also pick up some fantastic, affordable, original arts and crafts for the perfect Christmas gift at the craft exhibition.

“So come along to soak up some art and get some early Christmas shopping done.”

The Lillie Art Gallery is on Station Road, Milngavie, and is open Tuesday to Saturday.
