Are you free this Sunday? Then why not spend it in the company of friends, while kicking off your Christmas shopping – and all in a good cause?
East Dunbartonshire Provost, Una Walker, will be hosting a charity ladies’ lunch and Christmas shopping event on Sunday (November 2) in aid of the Macmillan and Marie Curie cancer support charities. The event will take place at Oregano in Bishopbriggs from 12.30, with a two course lunch being served at 1.30pm.
Provost Walker said: “This is probably one of my favourite events of the year. It provides an opportunity for some excellent ‘me time’ and a good reason to catch up with friends or family over a lovely lunch in this excellent restaurant and buy those unusual Christmas presents that can’t be found in the shops.
“Tickets are selling fast, but we have a few left, for those who would like to join us. Not only will it be a lovely afternoon but it’s all in aid of two truly amazing charities.”
Ladies will be welcomed with a glass of bubbles or orange juice and have an opportunity to browse a range of stalls and get their Christmas shopping started. Tickets cost £25 each and can be bought individually or you can group together with friends to book a table of 10.
Macmillan Benefits Adviser, Liz McKenna, will be attending the lunch to talk about the new service on offer from Macmillan cancer support.
The venue holds a maximum of 200 people and tickets are available by contacting Ellen Gibson in East Dunbartonshire Council’s Member support either by calling 0141 578 8086 or e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
