KEEN cyclists are being urged to sign up for a wheely special charity cycle run this June to raise cash for Glasgow University Cancer Trust.
Participants will set off from Drymen on Saturday, June 23 continue to Balmaha and then they will travel by ferry to Luss.
From there the route follows a private cycle path to Balloch followed by the Sustrans route 7 back to Drymen.
It covers a total of 24 miles and is suitable for any lesiure cyclist.
The event has been organised by friends who are all members of Strathendrick Cycling group - Donald Brown and Morag Jervis both from Drymen and David Thomas from Auchengillan after the success of a similar event they ran last year when they raised £1500 for the same charity.
Donald said: “We hope to attract at least £20 per bicycle.
“It has been requested that we repeat the run with a few changes.
“The entrants in the first event enjoyed the quiet roads and dedicated cycle paths with the ferry across the loch being of particular interest so we’ve made sure we’ve included that again.”
The event is sponsored by The Oak Tree Inn, Balmaha, Killearn Garage, Pottery Tearoom, Drymen and Strathendrick Cycle Group.
