A Milngavie family has organised a special tribute walk this Sunday around the water works to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity.
The event is in loving memory of 32-year-old Graham Stuart McKie who died on August 11 2006 from an inoperable and incurable Glioblastoma Grade 4 brain tumour.
His mum Rachel said: “This Sunday is the seventh anniversary of his passing and September 18 would have been his 40th birthday so we are asking family and friends who either knew Graham (Hedgie to his friends) or us, to ‘walk with us’ to give thanks for Graham’s life.
“We would greatly appreciate people’s sponsorship or donation which will go directly to this wonderful charity which is researching into how brain tumours occur and trying to find new medications to prolong the life of the sufferer, and hopefully one day, please God, find a cure!”
Meet at Drumclog Car Park at 2.30pm - the walk ends at 4.30pm. A tribute page can be found at www.justgiving.com/GrahamSMcKiethebraintumourcharity - and the family would like to thank those who’ve already donated.
