Jo visits care home

EAST Dunbartonshire MP Jo Swinson paid a visit to the newly built Westerton Care Home in Bearsden recently.

She met manager Joan Fraser, who took her on a tour of the state-of-the-art facilities featuring gardens, a putting green and scenic views.

The home has been open since February, with rooms for 86 residents and will employ more than 100 staff when fully operational.

Ms Swinson said: “It was lovely see around the new Westerton Care Home and meet the manager Joan Fraser. Her dedication to the residents and her job is truly inspirational.

“There are a number of homely touches there, including a library, a reminiscence room decorated to look like the 1950s, and memory boxes outside each resident’s room. It is so important that elderly members of our community receive the best care possible.”
