Glasgow Science Centre is on the hunt for MiniChefs of the future in Milngavie and Bearsden
Ahead of celebrity chef, John Torode, coming to Glasgow Science Centre in October to host ‘A Taste of Science Dinner’ and serenade taste buds with a specially created four course menu, GSC has launched ‘A MiniChef of the Future’ cookery competition for youngsters.
GSC is on the hunt for budding Scottish chefs in Milngavie and Bearsden that are between the ages of 8 and 12 that love cooking and can create a delicious and imaginative two course meal that would tickle the taste buds of celebrity chef, John Torode. The dishes don’t have to be complicated but must be the chef’s own creation and show originality and skill and use some great Scottish produce. To enter the competition you need to live in Scotland and be between 8 and 12 years old. The competition closes on 16 September 2011
The 100 runners up will attend a special event with John Torode on October 20, 2011. The three finalists will cook their main course with a Chef Mentor at the event and John Torode will choose a winner. Each of the three finalists will be allocated a Chef Mentor who will help them with a practice session prior to the final. The mentors will also accompany and assist them on the day of the final in the Glasgow Science Centre kitchen.
