THE High School of Glasgow class diary: Saturday sports fixtures - hockey: 1st XI, 2nd XI, 3rd XI, 3rd year A (H) v Robert Gordon’s College 4th XI, 3rd year B & C, 2nd year B (H); 2nd year A, 1st year A & B (A) v Jordanhill School. Rugby: 1st XV, U16 XV, Transitus A (H), 3rd year, A, 2nd year A, 1st year A (A) v Lomond School 3rd year B, 2nd year B, Transitus B (A), 2nd XV, 1st year B (H) v Jordanhill.

Monday - music lessons begin, individual photos from 9.30am. Duke of Edinburgh (Grouse) training 1 at 4.45pm.

Tuesday - assembly by Paul Davie, director of Alpha Scotland. U16 West District hockey trials at Windyedge from 4.30pm to 6.30pm and the 1st West District U18 hockey trial is at Hutchesons’ Grammar School, from 5pm to 7pm.

Wednesday - pupils take part in Petrochallenge at Glasgow University - also Thursday. Canto and Vocale groups meet at lunchtime and every Wednesday throughout the term and the 2nd and 3rd XI play hockey v Wellington School (A) in the afternoon.

Thursday - club and society fayre at lunchtime. Pipe band practise from 3.45 to 5.45pm every Thursday throughout term, there is a Clyde House games afternoon for Transitus and S1 at 4pm and a wine and cheese for new parents, in the Jimmie Ireland Stand, 7.30pm to 9pm.

Friday - Higher geography fieldtrip departs at 8.30am, ski team trials at Bearsden Ski Club from 5pm to 6pm.
