Help our bees by planting wild flowers in Mugdock

A NEW environmental initiative aimed at encouraging wildflower in Mugdock Orchard has been given a £500 boost.

The six month project run by Community Service Volunteers (CSV) is looking for volunteers on Saturday October 27 between 10.30am – 11.30am to pop along and brighten up the grassland within the newly planted orchard and help bees by planting an array of wildflowers to provide much needed sources of nectar.

As part of this year’s campaign, Scottish Natural Heritage will be supporting around 170 projects in Scotland through the grant awards of up to £500, aimed at groups that will help support and encourage volunteer activity through practical environmental projects.

For those who are interested, meet the Ranger at Mugdock Country Park’s South Lodge car park at 10.30am.

The event is suitable for all, but under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. For more information contact East Dunbartonshire & Mugdock Country Park Ranger Service on 0141 956 6586 or email rangers@mugdock.org
