Help Bearsden Academy pupils raise the cash they need to go to Bolivia and Chile next year

A SIGNED, framed and mounted print of this year’s victorious European Ryder Cup team is up for auction at a fundraising dinner dance being held by senior Bearsden Academy pupils on October 19.

And that’s just one of the fantastic prizes on offer at the gala night taking place in the Holiday Inn Glasgow Airport. Other prizes include a round of golf for four people at Gleneagles, a chance to play at the exclusive Loch Lomond Golf Club, plus a host of prizes from local businesses, such as Kallos Beauty and American Golf in Bearsden.

The event is being hosted by Alison Walker and Sanjeev Kohli, who plays Naveed from Still Game, and includes a delicious dinner, followed by a George Michael/Elton John tribute act and fabulous disco.

The fifth and sixth year pupils are raising money for their World Challenge Trip to Bolivia and Chile next year, where they will work in the local community and gain a broader global perspective and a greater respect for the world.

Each pupil has to raise £4,500 each for the trip and the dinner will hopefully help them reach their targets.

Alison Walker said: “This is going to be a fantastic night and I’d like to thank all our generous contributors who are making it extra special. The entertainment will be amazing and with so many terrific prizes up for grabs it is sure to be memorable.

“The pupils have worked hard to pull it all together and would love support from the local community – the more the merrier!”

Tickets cost £45 and are available by contacting Bearsden Academy school office on 0141 9552344 or by emailing anita.nelson@ntlworld.com
