THE King’s Theatre is ready to cast its spell this Christmas with its panto performance of Sleeping Beauty.
Starring Karen Dunbar, Clare Grogan, Tony Roper and Keith Jack this is a fun-filled, hilarious show for all the family.
When the wicked fairy casts a deadly spell on Princess Beauty the poor girl is doomed to sleep for a hundred years. Only the kiss of her one true love can break the spell. Which means that Beauty’s bravest and closest friends must battle to rescue the dashing Prince before it’s too late! He alone, can save the Sleeping Beauty!
Karen shone in the last Sleeping Beauty, dazzled in Cinderella and brought the house down as Widow Twankey in Aladdin. Playing Sleeping Beauty’s Nanny, Karen is going to be tickling Scotland’s funny bone once again. Karen said: “I’m over the moon to be back in panto this year. I’ve got such affection for the King’s Theatre and jumping around the stage through all the festive period for me is great family fun and a real feel-good way to spend Christmas.”
Joseph star Keith Jack plays the part of the handsome prince - with a voice to match.
Cast as the Wicked Fairy Carabosse and her evil henchman Hector, both Clare and Tony are also ready for each hiss and boo and are determined to make this a truly wicked pantomime.
Best known to Scottish audiences as the voice of Glasgow pop group Altered Images and also for her role it the iconic Scottish film Gregory’s Girl and currently the face of STV’s Scotland’s Greatest Album, this is Clare’s panto debut.
