POLE POSITION . . . a green eco-flag flies proudly over Baljaffray Primary - marking the culmination of two years of planet-saving work by staff and pupils.

The Bearsden school was awarded the flag in recognition of the efforts made by its eco committee.

Founded by teacher Rebecca Attfield, it has led the way in turning the school green, with pupils getting involved in recycling and other eco projects - including making a green house out of plastic bottles.

Deputy head Lesley Rodden said: “The eco committee have been brilliant over the past two years and this is a real tribute to all their hard work.”

Pupils Max Dryburgh and Nathan Rox, both members of the eco committee, raised the standard. (Ref: M10723b/a)
