Garscube runners in action

NINE members of Garscube Harriers were in action in the Glasgow Parkrun 5k race at Pollok Country Park on Saturday, May 28.

Iain Mennie finished in 22nd place in a time of 19 minutes 6 seconds followed by 40th Patrick Bayliss – 20:26, 42nd and 3rd lady Laura Devine – 20:28, 83rd Kieran McLaughlin – 22:27, 141st Tariq Abdullah – 24:33, 161st Peter Dow – 25:16, 239th Caroline Dow – 28:26, 243rd Laura Robertson – 28:52 (race pb) and 246th Andrew Bell – 28:56. In total, 338 finished.

In all, 40 members of Garscube Harriers turned out for the Polaroid Eyewear Clydebank 10k on Thursday, May 26 which incorporated the club’s 10k Road Race Championships.

Lesley Chisholm, who finished in 29th place overall in a time of 36 minutes 15 seconds, was the first lady to complete the race and the Garscube Harriers 2011 10k Road Race Champion.

The Men’s 10k Club Road Championship was won by Stephen Mulrine who finished in 11th place in a time of 34 minutes 52 seconds followed by Euan Geddes 22nd in 35:43 and Alex Chisholm 30th in 36:22.

A total of 815 runners completed the race.

Finally in Edinburgh on Sunday, May 22, John Murray finished in 255th place in a time of 3:05:54 in the EMF Marathon, Craig Brown came in 1841st in 3:38:50 at his first attempt at the distance and Robbie Drummond set a pb of 1:33:02 when finishing in 248th place in the half marathon at the same venue.
