Want to find a new hobby? Why not go along to a Fair of local clubs and societies in Milngavie Town Hall on Saturday, September 10.

The event, which is being organised by Milngavie Community Development Trust, aims to offer clubs and societies an opportunity to let local people know about them.

There are over 60 local groups and organisations in Milngavie so there’s loads to choose from such as voluntary gardening group Milngavie In Bloom, horticultural societies, history, photography, art and lifelong learning such as the University of Third Age (U3A).

Milngavie Community Development Trust (MCDT), fresh from organising a revival of Milngavie Week, would like as many local clubs as possible to take a stall at their Fair. so they can spread the word that there is a lot going on in Milngavie.

Wilson Blakey from MCDT said: “The summer holidays will be over and people of all ages will be thinking - I should really take up a hobby.

“We think many local groups and organisations would like to showcase their activities and see if they can entice new members to join.

“We want to spread the word that there is a lot going on in Milngavie.

“There are probably many people who might be interested in joining something, if only they knew what was available, could find out what it does, and could get in touch with it.

“Why not pop in, you never know what might take your fancy!”

Look out for more information nearer the time for specific details. In the meantime, if you want to help to run a club or society please email: info@milngaviedt.co.uk and reserve a space at the Fair in September.
