Sirens were blaring over at Baljaffray Nursery in Bearsden but there was no emergency.

Five firefighters from Milngavie Fire Station were visiting the tiny tots to tell them about fire safety and what fire crews do on the job.

The nursery’s senior childcare worker Ilona Cassidy said: “The kids were taken outside to see the fire engine and take turns on the hose. They were learning about smoke alarms, how to dial 999 if there’s a fire, how to be safe with fireworks, and the crew was trying to help them learn their addresses.

“The children had great fun - they loved it.” (Ref: m11894)
