Fintry grandad is Scotland’s oldest graduate

A FINTRY grandad has become Scotland’s oldest graduate - after gaining a second degree 54 years after his first.

Hamish Boyd (85) obtained a BA Honours in Humanities from the Open University recently.

The dad of two and grandad of five originally graduated in 1947 with a degree in medicine from Glasgow uni.

He worked at the Homeopathic Hospital in the Glasgow for more than 20 years before returning in 1991.
