‘Melody Box’ donated £400 to the Beatson Cancer Fund from their final performance. The group, set up by Anne Wightman from Bearsden when she was a member of The Pantheon Club, Glasgow, have been singing to church groups and other organisations for nearly 30 years. Over the years they have donated cash to ENABLE Milngavie & Bearsden and Milngavie Tuesday Club, The Way Ahead (Stroke Club) Bearsden, Erskine, Bobath Scotland, Finding Your Feet and Mary’s Meals.
