GARDENERS will get the chance to pick up some fantastic bargains at Baldernock Gardening Club’s Plant Sale on
Saturday, April 27 from 11am to 12.45pm.
This popular sale, which will be held at Milngavie and Bearsden Sports Club, Auchenhowie Road, Milngavie (beside Rangers training ground), has been running for as long as the club (about 15 years).
It is always busy with queues forming from about 10.30am onwards.
The club has increased in numbers over recent years and membership is now closed as they have had a waiting list for the last two years.
Chairman of the club, Nancy Stevens, said: “Some of our most knowledgeable members will be manning the tables groaning under the weight of a marvellous miscellany of member grown plants being sold at very reasonable prices.
“There will also be bedding plants from a small independent grower, slightly used planters, Buchley Eco-Centre will be selling compost and last but by no means least, there will be table of delicious home baking.
“There is no charge for entry this year and you will be able to leave all your goodies in our free plant creche whilst you enjoy our now legendary teas, available in the spacious and capacious upper rooms for the bargain price of £2.50.
“There will also be a small refreshment area on the ground floor for anyone unable to climb stairs.”
