Family’s three babies in three days

Proud Lenzie grandparents Ronnie and Annette McNeish knew they were going to be welcoming three new babies to the family this summer.

But they were flabbergasted when the little darlings arrived last week on three consec utive days.

“The odds of this happening are off the scale”, said Ronnie, who, with Annette, found himself in a maelstrom of phone calls and emails as babies duly arrived on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

“Neighbours must have wondered what was going on,” he said, after successively displaying “It’s a Girl” (twice) and “It’s a Boy!” posters in his window.

The couple literally doubled the number of their grandchildren that week, as the McNeish clan already included Amy(5), Freya(4) and Luca(2) – who belong, respectively, to their son Stuart and Donna, who now also have new arrival Cara Annette; Gordon and Linda, who have added baby daughter Lois Anna: and Steven and Ann Sophie, who now have a son, Kyle Lewis.

The three dads, all in their 30’s, are all former Lenzie Academy pupils, and, like their dad Ronnie – 35 years in the printing industry – are all professional men – Stuart is an accountant, Gordon a consultant and Steven an engineer.

Their mum Annette, meanwhile, is blessed with the task of friends just how the remarkable sequence of new arrivals unfolded.

The babies arrived at 3,30pm on Monday (July 27), 2am on Tuesday and 11am on Wednesday – three incredible days for one big happy family.
