A new art exhibition at The Lillie Art Gallery in Milngavie features work by Deborah Sanderson which explores the fragility of human existence.

Deborah’s creative roots have grown far and deep, through the rich soil of film-making, sculpture, painting, performance art and punk rock spirit.

This exhibition, which goes hand in hand with Deborah’s debut novel, ‘The Wonder Turner’ is a tender, yet playfully irreverent journey through our collective human experience.

It is a collection of visual alchemy, transforming colour, texture, and imagination into a wealth of striking paintings, sculpture and installation.

‘Intriguing and darkly humorous’, the book charts the travels of a reclusive ingénue through Time, Dimension, and Cuban music. Described by Jim Beattie, Primal Scream founding member as “A gem on its way to cult status.”

‘The Fragility That Marks Us’ is a spotlighted event in the May 2015 Festival of Museums.

Extracts from ‘The Wonder Turner’ will have live readings at the Lillie during May, and there will be opportunities to meet with the artist on the weekend of May 15-17.

‘The Wonder Turner’ will be available to purchase at the Lillie Gallery’s Shop, and also online. The exhibition at The Lillie runs until May 28.
