Council chiefs say they have had an “encouraging” response to their new household recycling scheme.
People are being urged to recycle all they can using food waste caddies and the new slimline wheelie bin collections.
Convener of Development and Enterprise, Councillor Alan Moir, believes the change in service is going well.
He said: “It has been great to see so many residents using their food waste caddies and new recycling bins. We have had our advisers out and about in the area answering questions and providing advice on how the new service works.”
The council has arranged to collect any unwanted old recycling boxes from till Friday, May 31.
Residents who do not want to keep hold of them should put their empty boxes out for the council to take them away on the same day as their new slim line recycling wheelie bins are being collected during that period.
A team of advisers will be out and about over the coming weeks providing guidance and advice to residents.
