Driving test pilot scheme to be launched

LEARNER drivers in Bearsden and Milngavie could soon be going to a leisure centre to take their test.

The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) has included the area in a pilot scheme aimed at increasing the range of venues from where practical exams can be conducted.

Bearsden and Milngavie doesn’t have its own test centre but has a high demand for tests - and learners have to travel to Anniesland as they bid to get their licence.

The DSA will look at possible venues - such as the Allander Leisure centre and council buildings - which could be used.
