Doctor Who fans flocked to Bishopbriggs Library recently for a special celebration of the century-skipping TV star.

The TARDIS-dwelling Time Lord is a firm favourite at the library, which offers a range of books, DVDs and audio adventures starring the Doctor and his companions.

Last month was WHO-ctober - featuring a range of events dedicated to the mysterious time traveller and there was a range of drop-in activities at Bishopbriggs Library to help celebrate the new ‘East Dunbartonshire’ Doctor, Peter Capaldi. There was also a Doctor Who Adventure Evening.

It was all part of the autumn programme organised by East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture (EDLC) Trust.

EDLC - supported by the council - has lined up a packed programme and a What’s On is available now with detaisl of events and activities ove Novemebr and December.

Scott Hill, chairman of EDLC Trust, said: “Our library stars worked hard to create sci-fi fun for people of all ages as part of WHO-ctober - just part of our innovative efforts to encourage people to make full use of the excellent local facilities.”

Councillor Alan Moir, convener of development and regeneration, said: “The council is delighted to support EDLC - with a fantastic and varied range of events on offer this autumn.

“You don’t need to be Doctor Who to travel through time - the programme can help you delve into the past with fascinating heritage events and then guide you into the future with ebooks and new technology.”

He added: “There genuinely is something for everyone - with a variety of clubs for young people - including musical adventures and gaming sessions.”
