Discounted rail fares for over 55s

SCOTRAIL will introduce an expanded Club 55 programme this autumn with three months of discounted tickets.

This year’s offer will start on Monday, September 3 and will continue through until Friday, November 30.

Passengers aged 55 and over will be able to travel anywhere in Scotland for £19 return, subject to time windows.

Weekday journeys which arrive at Glasgow Queen Street, Glasgow Central, Edinburgh Waverley, Edinburgh Haymarket, Aberdeen or Dundee before 9.30am or during peak rush hour times (generally between 4.42pm and 6.09pm) are not part of the offer.

Additionally, the 6.15pm Waverley to Queen Street and the 6.15pm Queen Street to Waverley services are also exempt as are journeys on the Caledonian Sleeper and private charter services.

There are no time restrictions for weekend travel with Club 55, however, Sunday East Coast services between Aberdeen and Edinburgh are exempt, in both directions, including intermediate stations.
