THE village will celebrate the Diamond Jubilee by ringing the bells in the Kirk on June 5 and 16 at 11am.
Jubilee cake will be served at the tea parties which will be held during the Killearn Hoolie on June 16.
A more permanent memorial to the Diamond Jubilee will be the renovation of the Coronation gates to the village hall.
The refurbished gates, which were erected for her Majesty’s coronation, will now celebrate 60 years of her reign and be re-erected on the completion of the new extension and renovation of the hall.
Killearn Community Council would like to thank Stirling Council for their grant towards these.
Residents of Killearn will be able to see the Jubilee Beacon on Dumgoyne organised by Strathblane Community Council, which will be lit between 10.15 -30pm on June 5 or you may see it from the Beacon Bonfire Party at the King George V Playing Fields in Strathblane starting at 9.30pm.
THERE will be a barbecue and ceilidh at Edmonstone hall tomorrow (Friday). The bar will be open from 6pm and local artists will be there from 7.30pm.
Tickets are available from Brown’s, the library and Blane Valley Inn for £5 - half price for children.
THE Allotments will be offically opened by Sir Archie Edmonstone at 11.30am on Saturday at the old railway.
Go along and see how the site is being developed - this will be followed by food and fun at the school’s summer fair.
This is a major fundraiser for the primary school, nursery and playground.
STRATHBLANEFIELD Summer Fair is going to be held on Saturday from midday to 4pm at Strathblane Primary School.
There will be fun olympic races for all ages, bouncy castles, pony rides, a dog show and toddler play area as well as a zumba display at 1.30pm, Scruff dog show at 2.30pm and a raffle.
There will be a cafe (selling coffee, tea and delicious baked goods) candy floss, ice cream, hot dogs and barbecue provided by Edenmill as well as stalls with crafts, books, jewellery and more.
