Killearn

THE village will celebrate the Diamond Jubilee by ringing the bells in the Kirk on June 5 and 16 at 11am.

Jubilee cake will be served at the tea parties which will be held during the Killearn Hoolie on June 16.

A more permanent memorial to the Diamond Jubilee will be the renovation of the Coronation gates to the village hall.

The refurbished gates, which were erected for her Majesty’s coronation, will now celebrate 60 years of her reign and be re-erected on the completion of the new extension and renovation of the hall.

Killearn Community Council would like to thank Stirling Council for their grant towards these.

Residents of Killearn will be able to see the Jubilee Beacon on Dumgoyne organised by Strathblane Community Council, which will be lit between 10.15 -30pm on June 5 or you may see it from the Beacon Bonfire Party at the King George V Playing Fields in Strathblane starting at 9.30pm.
