Croftamie

CROFTAMIE Community Council needs people to join.

It meets once a month (except December and July) in the nursery at 7.30pm, and meetings last approximately one and a half hours. Anyone who would like to stand as a candidate must be over 16 and live within the Croftamie Community Council area.

CROFTAMIE Nursery is inviting requests for places starting August 2012.

The nursery operates between 8.30am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, for 50 weeks of the year for children from two to five years old. Consideration for placement will be given, in the first instance, to children who are pre-school or three years old, from August 2012.

The deadline for applications is Friday, March 9. For an application form, or more information, contact nursery staff on 01360 660147.

Killearn

KILLEARN Bridge Club - the results for Tuesday, February 14 (aggregate) are - N/S 1st Margaret Chrystie & Eileen Lindsay, 2nd Ian Pascoe & Roger Sparkes, E/W 1st Beth Farish & Judith Townson, 2nd Jim & Maureen McKean.

On Wednesday, February 15 2011 four teams from Drymen, Killearn, Strathblane and Strathendrick bridge clubs competed for the Lorimer Shield. The winners were Strathblane and runners-up Killearn.

A JUMBLE sale to raise funds for Malawi is held in Killearn Village Hall tomorrow (Saturday) from 10am to midday. Entry costs £1. Contributions may be left at the village hall today (Friday) from 6pm when dealers will be welcome (but strictly after 8.30pm). Phone Sue on 01360 550748 if collection is required. Unsold items will be recycled to charities.
