DRYMEN WRI - the meeting in the Village Hall on Thursday, January 12 will be ‘A Trip to South Africa’ with Mrs M. Callan.

The evening’s competitions will be ‘A Holiday Snap’ and ‘Favourite Soup Recipe’ - note, recipe only.

Members are reminded to take a satchel with stationery items for donation to children in Africa, if they wish.

Gartocharn

A MEETING about wind turbines entitled ‘Problem Solved?’ is going to be held on Thursday, January 12 at 7.30pm in Kilmaronock Millennium Hall, Gartocharn, featuring talks by Helen McDade, Prof Iain MacLeod and Struan Stevenson MEP.

Rhona Weir, widow of Tom Weir, the climber, author and broadcaster, will introduce the event.

There is a proposal to apply for planning permission for a 10 turbine wind farm on the Kilpatrick Hills above Gartocharn.

This talk aims to provide information and facts that may not be well known by the general public.
