Milngavie Councillor Maureen Henry has congratulated Tesco and local people for taking part in a food collection at Tesco recently for The Trussell Trust.
Shoppers were urged to buy an extra item, or more, when they were at the store as part of a nationwide food collection to provide emergency food to more local people in crisis.
Councillor Henry said: “Tesco was overwhelmed with the response to the scheme and we should applaud them for running it and everyone who supported it.
“People’s baskets were overloaded with items and Tesco added another 30 per cent to the collection.
“I’m delighted that people were willing to help others who are less fortunate in this very difficult time.”
